The SR Xtracab can be ordered with out the SR upgrade package. 4wd and the upgrade package are the only options ouside of port add ons. The truck could be configured with out the rear sensors. Parts shortage and timing is probably the only way to get a SR XC with out the rear sensors. Never built a truck on any South East Toyota page no idea what's available there.

The sensors in both the sr and sr5 are part of the upgrade package.

Yes the sensors are part of the upgrade package. I'd be looking for a truck with out the upgrade package. Every SR 4x4 Xtracab I have ever looked at had the upgrade package.

I have seen trucks get the upgrade package but no parking sensors, the allocation listed the upgrade package but no sensors. That's an anomaly, or I misremembered and the upgrade package was deleted. The idea is finding a SR XC 4x4 with out the upgrade package

The parking sensors are part of the upgrade package. If they don’t have the sensors, they don’t have the upgrade package.

Are you picking up what I'm putting down? I know the parking sensors are include with the upgrade pkg same as the trailer brake control and maybe something else. I haven't looked at a listed SR XC 4x4 that didn't have the upgrade package and tge parking sensors that are included as part of the upgrade package.

When I saw this Prerunner listed as an allocation one of the options was the Prerunner upgrade pacage which included the rear parking sensors. When the truck was listed at the dealer the truck did not have rear parking sensors of the upgrade package listed. Presumably the parts weren't available when the truck was built.
I specifically recall seeing the upgrade package listed as an option when the allocation was listed prior to the truck being built, I remember that because I didn't want the upgrade package. Which lends some truth or hindsight bias to BaltimoreMD's comment about the factory leaving off some options or changing something due to those parts not being available when the truck gets built. It's still Toyota's choice on how the allocation is built.

No, you don’t seem to understand. That truck does not have parking sensors, it does not have the upgrade package. It’s as simple as that.

Wow that is awful. Definitely was re-painted and not done well. I assume damaged in delivery. Quick reject there and I also would not accept delivery on that.
Comments like these from keyboard cowboys about money who have no clue about the person they are replying to always amuse me and unfortunately really do show the ignorance still in this world.

That could be a repaint. Most of the Xtracabs I've noticed the the door and that section you circled does not flow together very well I only notice it in photos never looked that closely in person. I don't know if it's the paint or how the door lines up with the cab. Odly enough I don't notice that as much on the Prerunners.

I was wondering about. I do believe it’s an SR base which makes it not as bad I guess

Usually it the door that looks out of place. I'm wondering if that's a plastic pop on piece like Ford F series has behind the door on all the cabs?

I'm sure they exist with out the upgrade package. All the ones I have looked at had the upgrade package.

Lol it's a dealer plate with their name on it. I can't have dealerships knowing who I am.

The factory will do this depending on if it was considered an option. That's why so many halo vehicles delivered without wireless trailer camera or how, even though it was in the official spec sheet for the 24 LTD trims, they universally delivered without auxiliary prewire and without the built in air inflator (the limited supply was reserved for the TH and PRO builds). I have records showing the features on and accepted for my vehicle, then suddenly removed and the dealership having to call up corporate to find out why. The only change that I don't have an official reason/explanation from Toyota on was the interior color change - but they did confirm the switch was universal and not a single vehicle in the US delivered or was available at the time with the original color option.

    • Wireless trailer camera - force removed, factory shortage of camera harness for inside cab
    • Bed scene camp lighting - force removed, factory shortage with what they did have reserved for TH where it was factory standard
    • On board air inflator - universally removed from trim to prioritize TH and PRO
    • On board aux prewire - universally removed from trim to prioritize TH and PRO for the wiring harnesses
    • Boulder softex replaced with Graphite - no explanation given, but universal in the country for the trim

    • For the trailer cam and scene lighting, the window sticker was updated and I was not charged
    • For the aux and inflator, I was given compensation options
    • For the interior, I just accepted it because I didn't want all black/charcoal
Folks can believe what they want to believe, but I know the facts of my build and purchase. They are shared here for insight of what can happen and what is possible with the right timing, the right initial allocation 'base', and a winning partner in your salesperson to act in your interests.

That all makes sense, I'm not sure how much the salesperson or dealer can do outside of accepting the allocation or not? It's option deletes or materials color changes based on supply chain restraints. Yes you can luck up and not get an option you didn't want and won't have to pay for. Timing being the biggest factor and you can't plan to far a head unless you know Toyota's manufacturing logistics schedule. Yes a good salesperson could work with you on your already allocated truck and you can decide if that truck still works for you with the changes and option deletes. I even think it sounds like I'm arguing with you, but I agree with what you are saying.
