A lot/all 2nd gen TRD trims had SR5 badges, depending on how it’s described, although crazy sounding, not necessarily wrong.

SR5 used to be an interior package, Now it’s becoming a trim level. Roots still remain though.

A long time ago, the "5" in SR5 stood for 5 Speed Manual.

Aren't all TRD models technically SR5s?
SR, SR5 and Limited. While TRD Sport/Off Road/Pro are packages.

They’re not wrong though. All 3rd Gen trucks with the TRD packages are considered “SR5 grade”. My brothers old TRD Pro would come back as an SR5 if you searched the vin

Yep, I bought a 1983 SR5 in 1983 and took it to Mexico 5 times surfing the Pacific Coast. "5" stood for 5 manual gears. Manual locking hubs too. Wish I still had it. This is what it looked like except not a long bed. Same color (Terra Cotta), same white wheels. SR5 = Sport Rally 5 speed.

I took that exact same truck (in yellow) with those same stickers... + 2 street bikes all the way down to Cabo (tip of Baja peninsula) one summer - ln the late 90's must have been... took turns riding the bikes and truck.

We had a Banshee (4-wheel atv) on the back for cruising the desert / beach. Had a great time exploring the place. Had the whole place to ourselves. Barely saw anyone outside of the towns - ever.

We sold the Banshee at some point and then the bikes. Ended-up selling the truck at the end of the trip too!
    - Offers too good to pass-up!
We took the bus back home to California...

    3" lift, 33" wheels
Tacoma sr5, sport, offroad, pro are all sr5. It depends on what package you have have on the truck. I dont know if the sr are also called sr5. If so all tacoma are sr5 and they are just badgering it with whats included on the truck.

The model listed is 100% an offroad.

All models except SR are SR5 based.
