I wondered that too... You'd have to check the wires to see if anything needs to be repinned, but I suppose you can try. I decided to try a new "Denso" MAF instead of the used one that came with the Volvo duct, even though I am sure that all these cheap Ebay "Denso" sensors are Chinese knockoffs.

I recently bought the volvo duct and bought a new MAF sensor from Rock auto and my 1998 SC Tacoma will not run. Any Suggestions??

...also, there are two different wiring configurations displayed in this thread; one for Tacomas and a different one for 4Runners.

I just finished my 4Runner about 30 minutes ago. It started and ran with no issues. Looking forward to test-drive.

    My new VOYOTA 4Runner

I just want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank 1997tacomav6 for the thought spent on this mod. As well, thank you for the time and effort spent documenting it here. That giant MAF sensor restricting at least 25% of the flow has always bugged me.

I also want to add a thanks to 4Runner4Leon for posting the 4Runner pinout.

Are you getting any codes, or it just won't run?

Can you post a photo showing the connector wires and the MAF sensor part number?

Did you get the correct DESNO airflow meter?

The wiring looks right, although there are two W/R wires, did you leave the one on the right in its original location and just move the other one?

Also, I'm not familiar with the rockauto sensor, is it for the '99+ models?

Take a photo of your ECU if your not the original owner just in case it was changed for some reason.

Doesn’t make sense that it doesn’t work for the 1998

I used the suggested sensor from ebay with no issues. Also, I did not move the far right wire on the connector.

I would first replace the Walker sensor you have with a DESNO sensor
