    33X12.50-15's and zip-ties.
    Finally drove my truck. I did not get my check engine light to go off with lean codes. However I could feel the difference. My bullet style MAF must have been bad. Truck was running bad. Rough idling up and down jerky feeling and throwing MAF code. Once I drove it after mod there was instant smoothing of engine and no more MAF code and brought back some acceleration I had been missing. The cheap walker MAF sensor and Volvo tube cost me less than 50$. Great MOD! VERY HIGHLY recommended.

    Just bought a 97 supercharged and the check engine came on bummer . MAF codes came up so I did this conversion . Check engine light came back on real quick! Double checking if anyone can help. I’m wondering if my wiring is right an about the white and red strip wires . One has a gold tip. Does the gold one go in the middle like it is now or do I swap the whites. Any suggestions on eliminating the code?

    Wait, the light came on before the you did the swap?
    You sure it was the MAF code? Check vacuum leaks?
    What code?
    It will work for the 1997 truck, your wires are the same as mine.

    Yes sir ! Just stoped by the auto parts store on my way back home to check codes again. Looks like the MAF code went away from last night stoked now I’m left with these codes should be a simple fix. Thanks for your time @1997tacomav6 and checking my repin.

    I prefer pulling the ECU fuse so I don't have to reprogram all of my radio presets and the clock :)

    Quick backstory: I tried this swap and failed. Fuel trims went through the roof to the point that the truck simply wouldn't run. Next, I tried switching to the '97 "boost friendly" ECM #89661-04310, still wouldn't run.
    Like many people on the forum, I have several projects with the truck, one of which is installing a F/IC 6 (can't get it to work) A few weeks ago I tried installing the F/IC again, and switched back to my original ECM. It didn't work, but after I removed the F/IC I noticed that my LTFT was super low, 1-2, and stayed that way for a few days. (I've never seen my LTFT that low) So I figured, let's give this Volvo MAF thing another try. Well, it worked! I've burned though almost 2 full tanks, so almost 650 miles, and things seem fine. My LTFT are a little high, but workable I believe. Under load I'm around 7-8, coasting out of gear it'll jump up to 12-14 but immediately bounces back once it's under load again.
    I realize this coincides with the change to summer gas so that plays a part, but I've picked up about 30 miles/tank as far as MPG and can absolutely feel a difference in acceleration.
    I have no explanation for why it works now, but I'm super stoked about it and will report back if it fails in the future. Hope this helps anyone who has had trouble making the switch.
