I am curious. Has anyone tried a “waterless” wash? I am looking for an easy way to wash dirt and salt off my truck in between spraying off at the car wash. I washed my truck at the car wash today after a week of snow, slush and salt, but it still has a “grime” on the bottom of the doors that the spray didn’t get. Not able to give her a good hand washing right now.

if anyone has a recommendation on what I could use to clean her, I would appreciate it.

    thanks in advance

I’ll assume you mean rinseless wash. If so, those are meant for when the vehicle is not super dirty. Like on a scale of 0-10(0 just washed 10 filthy) they’re for 2/3 at best.

Thank you. I am seeing Waterless sprays and also Rinseless washes on Amazon. I was wondering if they were any good and if they were safe. I would like to find something to take care of what the car wash didn’t get.

Thank you for letting me know they would be good for minor dirt.

I use griots rinseless ceramic for my in between wipe downs. Rinseless is like a maintenance clean. It’s not for getting grime off. For what your wanting to do use regular wash soap.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I wouldn't recommend. Water is what carries away the things that will scratch your finish, i.e. salt/sand/road grime.

I mix about an ounce of carwash soap in a spray bottle of water and use it like a detailer. Use something for cars because it will have some special 'shine additives' in it.
Yes, you're rubbing dirt on your truck. No, don't scrub it like you're wet sanding, use a soft micro fiber towel and it will work just fine.
Many will now chime in and say you'll scratch your paint. I've been doing this for years (not with heavy dirt, but with the light film the spray wash leaves behind) and my paint still looks great.

So I use the rinseless wash in the winter, works pretty good for what it is.

What I do is I take it to the coin op and pressure wash everything off first. Bring it home into the garage and get two buckets and about 4-5 nice thick microfiber. One bucket for solution and the other with a grit guard and clean water to rinse off the microfiber. I usually do like the front bumper grill on one pass, clean microfiber, wipe down 1/4 of the hood, repeat. Toss that microfiber after the front end (minus fenders) and continue. Depending on how dirty it is, I usually use one microfiber for 2 panels or so.

It’s worth it to pay someone for a hand wash
