So here’s how my boomer play in trying to time the dip in good stocks worked out today. Off today so I tracked these stocks trend lines every few minutes and bought all 3 shortly after 1:20pm.
First here’s how the stocks ended at close;

And here’s my Roth at close of regular trading for these stocks bought after 1:20pm:


Lessons learned: diversifying a bit on the dip buys paid off. I made enough to buy dinner for one if I sold lol.
Have no idea where these will go in a week, month, whatever but pretty happy about the buys in a conservative boomer kind of way. Just practice for when I roll over about $45k I left in a 401k to an IRA in another month, then I’ll have a serious play account.

"Net worth" aka the company he part owns was re-valued and (shocker) it went up (probs due more to insane inflation than increased value?...)

So yet again Ken Griffin did nothing of value nor did he create anything of value. This is just more shuffling values around a spreadsheet and making press releases to tout it.

I mean shit, why do I need to keep being told Ken is doing so well if he's so busy just crushing it and making the rich richer? That'd be as pointless as closing your short position but then spending the next year... pressuring retail... to... sell...?

 

Not exactly. It was more like $1.19 billion for a certain % stake of the market maker, which in turn valued the company at $28 billion, up from $22 billion.

Again, all make believe.

Exactly how on Shart Tank they say "I will give you $100,000 for 10% of the company" which means now the company is "worth" $1 million.

So again, rich people bailing out rich people with minimal money giving maximum "gain" per dollar, and a misleading press release they can trot all over radio/tv/newsprint to make people think things ain't so bad.

Why was it so important to increase the company's paper value?

If it isn't important, and not necessary, then why bring on the first ever outside investors to the company?

I get my news from trusted sources like WSJ, NYT, CNBC and others; and they all keep bringing up GameStop for no reason just to warn me what a dogshit investment it continues to be and I choose to believe that because critical thinking fucking sucks.

Edit: OH and if they were fuk would they be constantly parading out misleading press releases about how un-fuk they are? CHECKMATE
