"I was right" is something I need to get framed.

You're buying dumb stuff, but you also know (and are doing) the right stuff. You'd be surprised (maybe not you, because you just did it) how many people have degrees in finance but haven't a clue what a 401k is, let alone how it works. What's investing? You mean I have to save to retire?

Starting early (tooting my own horn here too!) means you can take advantage of compound growth. That time is key. I can stop contributing, entirely, today, and retire at 65ish comfortably, because I frontloaded the shiz out of my 401k and Roth IRA. You're doing the same good stuff.

Rent for now. You can be mobile, and when shiz goes wrong, it's not your problem. Buy a little 1-2BR condo somewhere and then keep it forever and rent it out if you move. And, sometimes, it DOES make sense to rent. Both financially and the human element. I know plenty of people who rent, save a ton, and don't have to worry about maintenance, upkeep, etc etc. My VTI shares won't blow a hot water tank and need an emergency repair + comping tenants for the time the property is uninhabitable. In fact, I literally don't think about it. Would a rental property earn me more? Maybe. Would it be worth it, financially? Probably. Would it be worth it, mentally? HELL NO.

    https://www.calculator.net/rent-vs-buy-calculator.html

Make the dumb decisions and the good decisions. Why wait until you're 50 to have a fun car, wait until you retire to live somewhere that's nice to be year round, etc?

If it’s a way for me to learn to wrench on things yes. Because my Tacoma doesn’t really need much as long as I’m being smart with my daily driver.

Suspension only happened cus I blew the stock stuff out in the desert lol
    IMG_6919.png

So my calls were up 65% at market close…

    Yeah.
I don't "play" the market and am very conservative (and private). But I am happy with this.

My cost basis on PLTR is between $9-$14. Why do I only have a few hundred when I should have bought a few thousand :(

I'm fresh out of college just turned 22. You're fine. Unless you refuse to buy any crypto OR $GME. Gotta have something to bring to the table of degeneracy

I sold 200+ shares to help pay for a Taco....I mean yea...If I had financed that $5,000 instead of selling the shares...I would have $40,000 now....

    Oh and here's the ONE $GTII slap in the face...It broke $4 3 weeks later....But I made my $500
    and missed out on $40K

I still point out to my parents that in march of 2020 right after the big dump I was depositing 5k. Was still a minor account then so need parents to facilitate.
I said let me do : 2.5k in TSLA. 2.5k in NVDA.

I was allowed to pick a blue chip for half (apparently neither of those two were "legit" enough companies) so I went AAPL, and half into a tech ETF.
My account would look very very different today.

I got both. Actually bought the crypto dip this morning.

However I’m late to the crypto ball. Wish I would have bought when all the old guys were talking when I started my job and 401k. Some of those guys are in on bitcoin for very very cheap averages. A few don’t even need their 401k now.

If I had gotten in BTC when it was small man I’d be winning…I didn’t like the idea of money that wasn’t tangible.

at least my FBTC ETF is doing well. Also hearing good about XRP.

Some of us still dont buy into the whole digital currency gotta have your own wallet thing.

FBTC however will net me nice gains in a currency I can reasonably use to go pay rent though!
