Kinda' ironic that dudes screen name is Wizard huh LOL... That's a bone stock 6" fab tech lift with just a little pre load on the CO and the leaf springs are 4-5" lifted springs. Luckily for him when he called Alcan they knew what to build when he said he had a 6" Fabtech kit or he would need some airbrush work and fuzzy dice :/

Look at how close his fenders are to his tires = 6" lift. His confusion with his stats is why most people only rely on center of hub to bottom of fender measurements.

Holy crap you still don't believe me ? look at the facts it is a stock Fabtech 6" kit and watch his video where you can see the coil over with hardly any pre load on the coil AND his 35's are filling his wheel wells 1+1=2. The guy also spouts some BS about being the first person with the kit and that he sent his truck to Fabtech from Hawaii for three months ? Ummm that lift kit has been out since 2005 and there is zero difference in the chassis with the 2012+ Dude has a nice clean truck but he is seriously embellishing his numbers.

    I'm done

well like the other guys in here have said so far, if you plan on going wheeling, a DB lift isnt practical what so ever, they are mostly just for looks. same with the 20" wheels, they sure do look nice, but running 35s with those 20s, you have no tire to work with, so airing down is pointless since the ride will still be stiff and there isnt much tire to flatten out and get more traction. I spent a little under $3,000 for my mid travel setup, which in turn yielded me around 3" of lift (maybe a little more) AND increased my wheel travel, granted I am only running 31s atm...would really love to get a set of 35 trail graps!

everything you chose so far is awesome, the tires, billies, UCAs and leaf springs, but id suggest looking into mid travel or long travel, youll enjoy the ride and capabilities way more and you'll still look badass. it may be more of a personal preference, but hey...its your money bro, Im just throwin tips and suggestions at ya since you do want to wheel with your truck

Yeah, i hear whatcha saying. I might just keep the 4runner for wheeling and the Tacoma more as a show/street truck. Im not sure but ill look into long travel because desert racing would sound pretty fun!!!!

that would be cool to see the 4r modded out, SAS it, put 35s or 37s and lockers front/rear, and youll have a badass trail rig. hehe, ya even with my midtravel, I air down to 15psi in my tires and going the some of the whoops and bumps and things the trails here at eglin have, I can easily go 45+ mph....its...awesome. I could only imagine how much fun long travel would be, being able to go nearly triple digit speeds in the desert with ease

    why not keep the 4runner?

ne ways DB lift are garbage. i put one on my old truck an 07 gmc z71. rode like a damn dump truck and had probably .75" of down travel if that.

sold it after i realized i ruined the truck by cutting on it to fit the DB kit. i understand a 1/2 ton pick up and a tacoma have nothing in common, just my experience with DB lifts.

That's what im probably going to do and then put the 8 on the Tacoma. Does anyone have pictures of a 8 inch lifted Tacoma preferably 2012's and up?? Im on the fence about that big of a lift honestly.
