I don't think I'll ever be able to buy a used vehicle again after reading this form for a couple months

I'm so confused, what did everyone decide on? I will just go with that, just to be safe.

I decided that neither selection is safe. I'm just going to go without oil.

That's what I'm thinking, when it starts smoking real bad, just trade
it in for a TRD Pro.

Did you have a 4.0, dont think 0W-20 is not correct for it.

You go ahead and use that lambskin... hope it turns out well for you. Some would much rather the magnum with spermicide and PrEP.

And don’t forget to make a post saying “Ran engine without oil and now it won’t work. Wat do?”

Do you have an Engineer Degree like the Toyota Engineer's have? My thought is not to fuck with what they recommend and keep my warranty legit!

It's funny you mention that... my father is/was a Professional Engineer (Electrical, Industrial Power Packages). He once told me that he rarely (but occasionally) has anyone ignore his work
recommendations. Those who have died very bad deaths. Oil doesn't work that way... but, imagine for a moment.... eh, nevermind.

Really hate when threads go off the subject and everyone starts ragging on each other, Well changed my oil and filter and used the 5/20 instead of the 0/20. My first impression was that the motor was indeed quieter. Always use Amsoil Signature Series.

Impressions are not data. They are feelings. Brand is not an issue as nobody ever fails an engine because of the brand as long as it is a name brand and proper spec.

Run any oil you want, it's all the same, only different viscosity will effect your mpg.

It's funny because people always go a little crazy in oil threads. I've got a brilliant idea.

Anyone who has an issue with a member running any oil they want, go into any new thread here with members running oversize tires and 3-4" lifts and tell them the engineers didn't specify that for their truck.

Let me know what they say.

0W40 is the holy grail of oils. I've known owners to use it in their Tacomas, Porsches, Diesel Engines, Lawn Mowers and even put it on their breakfast cereal.
