What are you talking about dude?? I dont think toyota hates us, all im saying is that it would have been simpler to drop a proven, slightly more powerful, cleaner running engine in the bay rather than engineering an entirely new air pump system to just get it to be compliment, toyota quite obviously took the more difficult path here with the 2012 + .... and they were able to change the front clip and do all that other stuff I mentioned earlier just to get the secondary air system to work. Im sorry, but if they could've done all that. They could have put a duel vvti engine in the truck. And idk why you are putting words in my mouth?? I like toyota, and the tacoma alot, I went to school for them and worked for them. So im done here, because this is obviously not worth my time to talk to someone who will not listen to simple reason or take my opinion for what it is worth and who puts words in my mouth. I don't deserve the ignorance. Peace..

Yeah, I'm the ignorant one who can't understand simple concepts as reasoning why their pipe dreams aren't reality.

I'm sure you know better than the R&D team of a company the size of Toyota. I'm sure they have no good reason for any of their decisions.

How is it a pipe dream when its been done before with another truck and its not something thats overly outlandish?? Putting a 5.7 in a /Production/ tacoma (been done in a specilized drag truck by TRD) now thats a pipe dream. And its not like im failing to see the business aspect, im a business student currently, and from my conclusions, what I only suggested looks to be the better all around option for improvement. I dont need a hard head on tacoma world telling me up and down why im so wrong and living in a dream world when im not doing the same to you, and when my idea is an actual attainable reality , I say this only because its been done with the FJ. And ive learned that over the years, speaking in generalizations is one of the first keys to failure. Just saying. This is a discussion forum, where you should be able to state your opinion without getting your head chopped off.

Yeah, if I can post a 10sec 2.7 run I'm sure you 4.0 guys can post yours without embarrassment. ;)

The easiest way is to hold a camera while you do your run, and then crop the video right when you take off so as to make it the zero point, then simply use the YouTube markers as your timer. Pause the video when you see the needle hit exactly 60, and the elapsed video time is your run. It's good to within a second. :)

I bought the scan gauge plus to specifically read 0-60, but I don't think it works very well. It said I ran a 3.1 0-30, but 13.7 0-60. Lol my truck is not that slow.

Thanks buddy! I have a before and after video to show the difference in my build. The valve body upgrade is definitely a great addition. A pricey and time consuming one. I got lucky tho, and got a great opportunity and deal I couldn't pass up. Still highly recommend it.

Yes. Definitely 7 seconds or less. Cropping the beginning of the video right when you hit the gas makes it easy to be accurate within one second.
