    My 3.4L Tacoma does 0-60 in "I don't care - it's a 4x4 pickup truck"

The Tacoma came out mid year 1995.

This is why you have the "1995.5" Tacoma...

My truck is so slow it can barely get out of its own way.
That’s why I have a motorcycle. Its a slow vstrom 650 but fast compared to cars. It’s listed 0-60 is 3.5 seconds. I think it’s more like 4.5 seconds though. my daily is a car. Also slow.

I’ve beat ricer Honda’s and even a power stroke one time. Beat a Subaru Forester, and also beat my friends 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 v8. I feel like my truck is a little quicker now that I have a dynomax ultra flo on it, and usually I’m able to match people quite well. Haha

The 3.4 truck has plenty of power, it's faster then a v8 Silverado from stop light to stoplight. I miss having that power on tap.

It was mentioned in an earlier post that "it's fast for what it is"-I think that statement coins this truck perfectly. I feel that for such a small engine, which is only about 204 cubic inches, and MY truck being pretty close to 4000lbs. it will move with reasonable authority when you open it up. This 3.4 likes to rev and loves to work it out in the higher RPMs. I have been quite content with its power up those long grades we have out here. Sure occasionally I'd have to take it out of OD but factors you never give a thought to such as its truck profile plus all that ground clearance underneath allowing plenty of wind to fight against forward motion, it's understandable. It's a truck, not a low wide sports car.
Plus the 3.4 is overbuilt internally so it doesn't beat itself up in the process and gives years and miles of service.
THAT cannot be beaten by any 0-60 times:)

I've "beaten" Ferraris and Porches before.

Though I have my doubts they were trying.

Hate to burst your bubble, but you don't actually have to push very hard on the gas for a turbo to spool up...

If anything, that was my one pet peeve of my 22r-TE 4Runner ('86); I'd be driving along the highway and want to maintain speed on the slightest of hills or speed up like 5mph. Step on the gas a little bit and the turbo would spool, you'd speed up too much, let off, then have to step on it again to maintain speed again. You had to have a real light touch on the throttle or the turbo would constantly spool up then down, then back up again.

Anyhoo, all this talk about 1/4 mile and 0-60 times from 20+ year old Japanese 4x4 pickup trucks is rather entertaining.

I mean, mines not that slow for a 20+ Year old 4cylinder that leaks a little bit of oil. But then again they aren’t race trucks, but some people in Saudi Arabia or somewhere use the 3RZ to build insane sand racing trucks, I think haltech featured them on a video before.

Oh sure, you can dump a ton of money into one, and they can take a huge amount of boost.
