Would a wheel with 0 or a negative offset be better for fitting 285’s? I know some cutting will most likely still be required but would one make it minimal and not req a CMC. I know some guys are running 285’s with no CMC.

The more negative you go the worse the rubbing will be. That being said, mine are -38 offset and wouldn't have it any other way!

    ...too much shit to list.
Offset is basically a useless number without knowing the width of the wheel. A zero offset on an 8” wheel is very different than a zero offset on a 9” wheel. With both offset and width you can calculate the wheel backspacing. Backspacing is the key for oversized tires to clear both the frame/uca as well as the cab mount and plastics.

Aw man!!! Those will still look real nice.

No issues with wheel bearings yet.

I've seen stock rigs have wheel bearings fail at 5k. I've seen modded trucks never run into problems with them after 200k.
    Just a teeny bit lol

Will be headstrong kit 5100 with ome coils and AAL in rear. Still up in air as to either 885 or 887. The wheel widths will be 8.5 most likely.

Further you go the more tension it’s science. Stay as close to 0 off set but you can change your backspacing. Imagine you have two sticks on the ground that weigh the same except one is longer than the other…lay down on your back with both hands like a star…when both sticks on the ground while you hold them the sticks have same 0tension but once you start lifting them with only your thumb and a finger you’ll feel that the one with longer surface area is harder to maneuver than the shorter one even though same weight. If you want more offset drop the weight or size of the tire to equal out the big tire with shorter offset if that makes sense

Looks great ! I’m in the shop for rims before doing tires and suspension. Ultimately I want 305 70 16s which are 32.8 x 12. My goal is get as close to 0 offset and going to do whatever it takes to make them fit lol

Did you go with 17x8.5 wheel size? No CMC?

Correct 17x8.5 no CMC. It did rub on stock suspension not too bad but it did. No rubbing at all now:

Hey @Fedup13, another old thread resurrection here. So you fit 285's without rubbing and no mods? Would you be able to give me the rest of the details on your tire size and your lift height? About to get similar rims to yours, my shop told me I couldnt go over 275/70/17 but if you're doing it successfully I might just try. Thank you!
