00 Tacoma weird Sound from engine

    Sounds like the power steering pump to me. Hows the fluid look? Is it proper level? Easy thing you can do is go to walmart get a cheap turkey baster and the correct ATF on the PS cap. When you get back use the turkey baster and suck up all the power steering fluid out, if it's dark in color it's definitely old. Pour some new atf in, start your truck and turn the steering wheel all the way left then all the way right (lock to lock) a few times. Some leave the truck on but I shut it off after having PS fluid blown into my face. Return to the engine bay and turkey baster that PS fluid out again and replace then turn the steering wheel lock to lock. Do this as long as it takes to make the PS fluid clean and light in color.
