I bought the 00016-35220 Toyota Tacoma Fog Light Kit 2012 - 2013 and installed it in my 2012. Works great, but I very much want to do the mod that lets you turn on the fog lights with just the parking lights. Can someone please tell me if there is a way to do this. I have read the mods for the factory installed lights but this kit is different. Thanks in advance for any help.

FLAJIM i have a question about the kit. Does the$149.95 kit come with fog lights for both sides or do you have to buy two?

I finally have the FOG lights on anytime, basically pulled out the wiring that goes to the relay under the dash, orange and black cable with Diode in it and few other cables had to rewire the hole thing to get it to work. I will try and take pictures in the next couple of days to show u what i mean.

Great news it can be done. Please post as much instruction as you can. I really don't want to short something out. Looking forward to see your reply.

    Thanks again, JIM

eBay. $99 with harness, relay, bulbs, and oem style switch that fits in the Oem holes with no alterations.

Lenses are glass. The quality surprised me.

All I needed were tie wraps.

Watch the kits on eBay. Some have a cheap round switch, and others have the oem style switch.

I am about to get this same kit from a Toyota dealer and install it myself on a 2013 RC,

I would think you just need to find the wire that tells the relay to turn on, and run it to a know hot wire of your choice.

I would like to be able to run them with my DRLs sometimes...

Guess we will see. I know there is a free PDF download of the factory 2013 Electrical manual on TW now, it has been a huge help.

This is the page in the PDF from above,

The standard instructions for the kit you have and the kit I am using it gets the power from the headlight low beam power, see pic one, it's the wire going into the PIN 35 of PLUG IA1,

The second pic is just the white wire being used and it's for ground purposes. PIN 29
This the text from the PDF of the instructions.

One advantage of wiring this way is well it's within the state laws yadda yadda yadda, but also the lights will turn off like your lights already do when you turn the ignition off and open the door,

I myself want them to be able to be turned on with my parking lights...

T-tap orange/black wire from fog light
harness to connector IA-1 pin 29, white
wire. Connector IA-1 is located in the upper
kick panel area (pictures 15 and 16)
    16. T-Tap the green/black wire from fog light
    harness to connector IA-1, pin 35, red-black
    wire (picture 15 and 16)

^^^^That's all I did, find the hot terminal on the fog light relay, bend it 90 degrees carefully. Run a tap to the driver's front corner parking light and connect this to the aforementioned bent out terminal. Had to drill a small hole in the fuse block case to accomodate the wire so that the locking cover would fit, but by far the simplest mod I've done yet.
