Well, finally found a topper priced right for my short bed. AND ITS THE RIGHT COLOR! I was feeling pretty lucky.

Once this was installed, I was able to pull out the old aluminum box and add some carpet, move the mounts from the bedside to hold shovel and axe, and add a couple of legs to hold the weight.

So now I have a nice lockable and accessible box in the rear.

There were so many places I visited in Idaho I don't think I can post enough to do it justice.
    We hit the following areas:

Wisky Mtn, Black Mtn, Glass Hill, Diamond Basin, Fairview (Old ghost town and Cemetery), VirtuCon's Mill, Forgotten Mine (no trespassing, but my dad knew the guy so we got a tour), WarEagle, New York Summit and Silver City. (all part of the Owyhee Mountain range) In all it was 4 days worth of driving and exploring.

Finally picked up the custom top. (as noted earlier, lots of issues, and was unfinished) The second place we took it just didn't have the time to do the work to finish it...

My son and I are going do work on it ourselves and finish it off. (make it a father and son project).
When we are done, we may just end up selling it.

Made and put in a custom shield for the TC Actuator to keep the head off from the re-routed exhaust just for piece of mind. I'm considering unwrapping the pipe.

Been a while since I posted anything... Figured it was about time for some additional updates.

I have not been out much on trips, but I have been working on upgrades...

So over the last several months I have picked up a bunch of stuff and have been slowly installing it...
    • Built a drawer system (photos below)
    • Weboost, and antenna mount (install still to come)
    • a new suspension system
      • Dobinson's MRA 3-way adjustable (black) full kit including heavy springs.
      • New SPC Light racing UCAs. (no more uniballs, Yeah!)
      • A flip kit with new bumps.
      • I am also going to have a BMC done when I install.
    • a Dometic CFX50 fridge
    • an ARB fridge slide
    • a bunch of electrical gear to build a relay and add 6 new switches in the bed of the truck

    Drawers:

    Basic Test fit

Some early work on the electrical.. (still in progress)

My initial relay and electrical design has changed slightly
    • decided to go 2 awg since 4 was just right on the edge of good enough)
    • decided to add a low voltage cut off into the setup as well (not on the diagram yet).
    • changed the layout in for the panel to get a better fit on the panel.
    IMG_5327.jpg

New layout and switch box (still in progress as well)

    IMG_5396.jpg

Up under the hood, the basic layout is there, but I may see if I can find someone to make this design in aluminum. :)

    IMG_5388.jpg IMG_5373.jpg

The relay panel will be mounted up against the front of the bed and I will place the switch box back just in front of my aluminum box that sits on the passenger side.

I had to build a place to hang my tent in the garage and still be able to park, so that was an additional project I had to get done. This is my "garage tent rack"

    3-tent.jpg

I will get some actual usage photos to post later, but for now. Tent on the truck before being loaded onto the "garage tent rack"

Changed out the boxes for the wiring. I just didn't like the wood. (heavier and the plastic seemed maybe slightly better for fire resistance, but definitely better in the waterproofing space.)
    IMG_5417.jpg IMG_5422.jpg IMG_5419.jpg IMG_5424.jpg
Updated the diagram and layout as well.

Finished up the relay and switches installation. (I had to make one more add to the diagram for the switch power) other than that the planning paid off.

    Here are some finished shots.
