I was Turkey Hunting today and got stuck in a field. I was in H4 at the time. After I was puled out I attempted to put the vehicle back into H2. The 4WD and $lo button continued to blink and the vehicle remained in 4 wheel drive. I have tried all the suggested tips in regards to driving reverse, disconnecting the battery, driving forward slowly and nothing seems to work. Reading some of the older threads this seems like a common problem. Does anyone have a surefire plan because this is annoying. Also what is the possible harm of continuing to drive it in this manner. I'm trying to avoid taking it to a dealer. Thanks.

Is it just the light, or is it actually stuck in 4WD?... Maybe the connector at the differential is wet or damaged?...

sounds like a front diff actuator, pretty easy fix.

It is actually stuck in 4WD. I think its H4. I can tell when its turning. Both lights continue to blink. Never happened before

Hmmm... I agree. Start looking at the actuator as previously mentioned...

Put it in neutral, then switch back to 4Lo, then keep in Neutral to return back to 4Hi. Then drive and back to 2Hi.

Do big S-turns at crawling speed wide enough take up an entire two lane street, that usually works to pop them out of 4 wheel.

Push down the little black button in this picture with the red arrow and then you can shift out and back to normal.
