Yeah I'm not sure what changed. 40" Toyos and 40" Nitto Trail grapplers both weigh over 100lbs each per tire

Yeahhh Toyos are like one of the heaviest out there haha I know mine are and they're baby tires... 40 inch trail graps look gnarly as hell

All of them would work killer but since I drive this thing on the street a lot, I need less rotating weight. Extra height and weight would just kill me on the hills. I'll be ready to drop a 5 speed and Atlas in it once the auto tranny craps out.

If mine ever gets SAS'd a manual transmission will most likely go in. But that's like a 5% chance haha

Tire Rack states the 40" MT/R as 86lbs. I tossed one on my scale and it said 84ish Lbs. Therefore they must be 85lbs each.

I was originally looking at the K-spec Grappler in a 35. Then realized how much they weighed. Mind boggling....I vote MTR. However the trail grappler has been a proven tire time and time again. Very well designed tire.

    What about a 40" Krawler?

Great job on the truck btw. I've been creepin haha

Bumper looks good, sometimes guys go overkill on them. I also really like your tran pan protection.

Very excited for the rubicon, our two little tacos should compliment each other well.

We're staying in Reno on the 16th and 19th because rooms in tahoe=rip off!

Thanks! 39" Krawler weighs 83lbs. I like those tires a lot but its pretty typical for BFG tires to run small. My BFG Projects measure to 37.5" and they are supposed to be 39". MTR's seem to be the ticket!

Right on! I am stoked! Probably going to make a rear bumper before the trip too.

That right there seems like the perfect excuse to run a 42" Blue Label Krawler. Unless you could find someone to get you a set of red labels...

    Omg. That'd be HAWWTT:)

I've never seen a 42" blue label. 40" MT/R's are likely to happen soon :)

Not really, no. Read through the 14 bolt bible on Pirate. It's the strongest, cheapest rear axle you can get. You'll also find the Dana 60 bible on Pirate as well.

They are pretty straight forward. If you pick up complete axles, you'll have the opportunity to tear them down completely and do a rebuild. Dana axles and especially the 14 bolt are a lot easier to work on than Toyota stuff.
