I really dig the front fender protection, seems legit.

Excellent engineering! I really laugh when people put expensive DOM tube over a $50 fender (replacements really are that cheap). My fenders are so flimsy, they'd bend inward if hit on anything but I just pull it back out if it gets too bad.

Hahaha, so good. I mean I can't really talk, both have a sfa and I don't, but come on! Some people should not be allowed to own tools.

That's for sure! Got some plans for the rear suspension lined up once the cage is done... :spy: Mondays are good for brainstorming!

Cab seals for the B pillar where I cut 2" holes in the roof and floor. Looks like they'll work fine for now.

Not that im defending exo cages because i think they are ugly, however the cage on that tan taco looks like what people build around here (midwest) to use as full body sliders wheeling in the trees. I have a friend with a 3rd gen runner with an exo that looks like that (not as rough) and its so that he doesn't get hung up on body panels. His is all built out of HREW and he just replaces it as it gets bent. Hes flopped it a few times and its fine. If you put it real tight to the body here you will destroy the body as the tubes hit it.

His problem is he's using HREW for a cage. No wonder it bends! If he used DOM, I bet he wouldn't have any problems bending it into the body.

A sign of good things to come

Bend is probibly the wrong term, it flexes into the body, that has more to do with the fact that its a 3rd gen runner and there is no x-bracing where the doors are. They built an exo on a fj55 tight to the body with DOM and it does the same thing.

Sweet looking cage so far, i like what you did on going through the roof. I need to cage mine, however the interiors on these things are so damn tight its hard to get one in there, and as stated an exo is a last resort lol. If i did build an exo it would be like yours or Matt's.

If the cage is properly braced to the frame, the body moves into the cage on hard hits. It's almost self clearancing in a way :D

Lol. This isn't about who does what with or with out the lack of safety features. Jason's just pointing out the incorrect load paths of that c pillar design
