I can't wait either! My buddy wants his garage back so he can build his 83 Toyota now that he's got motivation after watching me build mine.

Good to know. I may pull this apart when I get it, I may not.

    Soon grasshoppa.

I ordered brake lines today from Summit. A local Hose and Fitting place wanted $2.50 per INCH for stainless braided line. That's $375 in stainless braided line alone! Summit sells Earls pre-made stainless braided lines with -3 AN fittings on either end for $17 each in damn near any length you want. So I got 36" lines for the front with proper adapters and a 24" line, 26" line and 28" line for the rear plus more adapters and a -3AN tee for the diff for $165. Even better is spares are DAMN cheap and an off-the-shelf item  Can't beat that!

I'll probably piece together all the steering lines too once I figure out what I need. I have a plethora of parts to use already but PSC is known for skimping on length of hoses with this "kit" I bought.

First trip is Rubicon in July. Slickrock is pretty cool I guess but there is really only one mildly difficult obstacle.

Nice! Do you have to get a certain size line depending on the calipers/axles/etc?

Also, it seems most people go with PSC products. Is this because of quality? Availability? The name? I bought a TG 2" bore hydro assist awhile back, and in hindsight I didn't do my homework beforehand and hoping I didn't make a mistake.

Nope. Pretty much all the same size when you buy off the shelf parts. When you go up in AN size (I got -3), you'll get bigger diameter lines but -3 is what you want.

PSC has pretty consistent quality and I don't mind paying more for that extra piece of mind. PSC really wasn't that much more than Trail Gear anyway and I really wanted to stay away from Trail gear as much as possible.

If you got a 2" cylinder, that might be a little big for the TG pump; it will lag more in responsiveness but will have more power in the rocks when you need to steer. But if I were you, I would go full hydro and not fuck around with a steering box or panhard. Do a 4 link. I'm keeping the steering box to stay street legal and my cylinder is 1.75" x 8". Kind of a happy medium between a little 1.5" cylinder and 2".

Thanks, I might just then run it and see how it does and go smaller if needed.

While I like the idea of going 4-link/full hydro, I'd like to keep it streetable and U4 mod class rules don't allow full hydro anyway.

Plus I already built the 3-link.

Haha yeah, might as well! Gonna shoot for removable aluminum panels for the floor and firewall. If there's one thing I hate about working on vehicles, it's inaccessibility.

Well, had a 3 day weekend so I decided to hammer out a bunch of the detail work. Mainly painting but also got the rear brakes plumbed, brake master is in, battery is in, almost everything is painted (not the transfer case mount yet). I figured out how to run all the steering lines and had to order some new pieces, if those show up this week, I can drive the truck this weekend  Thats my buddy Adrian who helped me install the light bar.

Another note, I lowered the back of the truck down an inch, now the rear fender cuts don't look as bad

Nice man! Still have cutting to do on the fenders? They don't look anywhere close to what Matt cut out. (I think all the way to the corner light, IIRC)

Great job on the truck!! Your going to be very happy with that light bar. I use the same on but 20" up front. The light pattern on the road is superb.

Super clean, super simple build. Very very nice. Keep up the good work :)
