just wandering if the 01 dbl cab seats are the same as the 4runner seats? would they bolt right in? are the more comfortable? i had a 96 ext cab tacoma 4x4 and i swear the seats were more comfortable in it than my 01 dbl cab prerunner trd....am i imagining things?

No - Tacoma and 4Runner seats aren't identical.

You can install same-generation 4Runner seats, but you'll need to modify 1 of the 4 mounting base 'feet' or 'tabs' on each seat.

If I recall correctly, one of the 4 'feet' won't line up with the Tacoma bolt holes, and you'll have to bend / whatever that 'foot' to get the mounting done.
