01 tacoma lights won't turn off and when I turn them to the off position the relay chatters....also changed the relay and it didn't help.
I unplugged the headlamp switch and they finally went off but it looks a little trashy riding with the steering wheel unbuttoned can anyone tell me if the switch is the culprit with any amount of certainty?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Don`t feel bad mine is the same way I use a flat screw driver on the ignition electrical switch.

Either a bad switch or physical damage to the head light harness allowing the system voltage to go to ground.

Headlights are a switched ground .

I did figure out that it was not the switch I seen where some models were having an issue with daylight running lights, I don't have those....is it possible that I have lost a ground from the battery that is causing this, I smoked way too much pot as a teenager to wrap my head around it

took the switch apart and no heat damage or apparent damage at all so I unplugged the light switch from the assembly and it went off

If you unplugged the wiring harness connector from the switch assembly and they went off then dang sure sounds like a bad switch to me.
