I just brought new plugs and wires home and was excited to change them. Little did i know that things are a little different that i assumed. I found how to change them on a 2nd gen but was wondering if it was different and if so if there was a thread explaning how to on my model.

Yep, its perty simple, just unplug and change out one at a time. But make sure to gap them and use some anti-sieze. But really quite simple.
