01 pre runner with 2.7 motor 310k miles
Car wont start on hot day example i drove about 300 miles then fill gas and try to start it and it wont start,i have to kinda shake the gas tank with my foot really hard then it will start (hesitating first) then idle normal, i thought it was the fuel pump so i pick up denso fuel pump kit from rock auto and remove the bed to get acces to fuel tank and replaced them
I thought the problem gone but after new pump its still wont start after long drive or hot days, when morning or night or after sit for awhile the truck starts fine no problems
I feel like harness in the tank got loose or something but when the car starts it will idle smooth and runs smooth even i hit potholes or trail
Checked all fuse fine, efi relay seems fine too, fuel filter changed about 8k miles ago

    Anybody experience this issue before?

After fuel pump replacement CEL is on for p0420,0441,0446 i think something about canister or vsv sensor but i dont think its related to this problems

it is tough to diagnose intermittants when they are right in front of you but over the internet it is a stab in the dark.

it appears that we are looking for anything "heat soak" related and the first thing and the cheapest is try opening the gas cap and see if that helps when she is stubborn.

the fuel pump will only run when the ECU/PCM sees that the motor is turning over, one of the inputs is the crankshaft position sensor. It "could" be intermittant and it "should" throw a code.
