01 Rear end fit into a 98??

    does anyone know the answer to this question..taking a rear end out of a 2001 tacoma 4wd and putting it into a 98 tacoma pick up???

    If both trucks are 4x4/prerunners you can swap the whole axle over. You will just need to make sure the gears match up if the truck getting the gears is 4x4. If one is TRD and the other is non TRD and you try to swap just the third members without the axle housing it will not work.
