Can anyone confirm the part numbers I need for a "Factory Tow package" on a 01 Tacoma?

Ive been looking and it appears like their are 2 different part numbers for the wiring harness, I dont know the difference is between them and I have also heard about the different fan clutch that was equipped

I know its cheaper to go aftermarket, but I want to keep it factory just to clear that up!

Why do you want to go factory? Aftermarket and factory hitches are the same thing except the dealer will charge you twice as much. I bought a used Hidden Hitch for $75 and the wiring harness for $35. If you decide you want to buy a new hitch you can go to your local Uhaul or buy online from Etrailer.com. From etrailer.com the hitch will cost $145-$200 and the wiring harness will cost about $40. Use the 5% discount code, 98XL3. Etrailer has free shipping over $150.

The hitch is easy to install with 4 bolts. You just need someone to give you a hand. The wiring harness is even easier. You can have both of them installed in less than an hour.

I have an 01 w/ a hitch already in place. The wiring is a 4 flat but I need a 7 round. Does anybody make a 7 round adapter? I'm really looking for the switched 12v to charge my trailer battery.

You can find an adapter just at about any auto part store. Walmart might even carry them. They have a lot of towing supplies.

But that won't have the brake controller or 12v power I'm looking for.

    Then buy a brake controller.

hey I am doing the same thing, try etrailer.com for the adapter that goes from the 4 flat to the 7 round connector. you still have to run the one battery wire and the blue from the brake controller. good luck
