01 Tacoma Lumber/Ladder rack bed rail attachment

01' Tacoma PreRunner 2.7

I'm going to check out a Rack-It rack for my 01 ext cab prerunner tacoma. It's the kind that works with a camper shell (which I already have). I wanted to know - does the rack-it attach to the bed rails via drilling holes/bolting it to the bed?

I know there are places on the bed rail - when looking from the underside up into the bed rail - where it looks like holes can be drilled for mounting.
