Went to town the other day, no problems. Came home and turned off. After two hours went to truck to leave again and 'click'. All dash lights came on normally. Just one click from starter. Sounded like gear rod extracted but wouldn't turn engine over. Checked battery, 12.7 Volts no load. replaced starter. turn key and click. all fuses good. removed EFI link for about 20 minutes and only one click when the key is turned to start. I bought this truck two weeks ago and really love it. it is breaking my heart that I cant drive this baby anymore. any help would be greatly appreciated. I did try to jump it off with no luck also. it is a 3.4 V6 DC.

FIXED...wire attached to positive battery cable was corroded. Removed it and separated the wires and cleaned them very well. Also cleaned the negative battery post. Not only did the truck fire up immediately, the check engine light went out. Should have checked that first, but things are never that simple for me.

Thanx for posting your solution. I think this happens frequently (not ruling out the simple stuff first before replacing expensive parts).

At least you have a backup starter now. :D
