I also repainted my bumper with the Dupli-Color bed armor and love the end result. The "rough" texture of the ed armor helped hide the tiny imperfections from grinding and cutting on the bumpers surface. I can't say enough good things about this product. I even did a little strip along the bottom of the tail gate and under the tail lights.

I ordered new Duralast Gold CV's from Autozone and installed them 2 weekends ago along with the Diff Drop from Rev-Tek.

I was bored on a raining day a few weeks back and decided I would love to have an awning for when I cook while camping out. There was no way I was paying the price of a legitimate one so I began brain storming how to do it in my head. What I came up with was a tarp within a 3"PVC pipe. The inner pipe was longer then the larger 3" one and therefore you could turn it with your hand to retract it when not in use. For $20 and about 2 hrs time, I can't complain.

Had the camper off a few weeks back to repaint it and color match it this time. I had to snag some pics of it off considering it has been on for at least 2 years.

Thanks! Which shackles are you referring to, the lift shackles or the yellow ones?

The lift shackles were bought from Daystar. They are their 2" greasable shackles I believe. I love them, just greased them this past weekend as a matter of fact.

Thanks! It's been quite a project to say the least. A lot of time, very modest budget in mods but they fit my needs and get the job done. No sense in putting thousands and thousands of dollars if I'm not going to get use of it.

I will take a picture tomorrow and it will explain. Basically I have a piece of 1.5" square stock welded to the vertical support for the tire.

Subbed!!!! Man ur truck is amazing to say the least. I have watched you progress with the build an what a transformation. This is the look I am going for. Love the whole truck but especially the bumper. I bet them tires were huge when on. I thought the same thing when I got my tires put on a week ago.

Have you tried carrying a full jerry can on that mount on the swing out? My guess is that it's nowhere near strong enough to handle the weight of the full can and bounces all over the place?

Definitely could use some kind of support underneath.

Thanks! It's been an on going learning experience and yes, the transformation has been a pretty big one. The tires were probably one of the biggest and most noticeable changes to date.

I plan on redoing the mount. I'm going to bring it down lower to just above the recovery shackle. This ought to add rigidity and help with the visibility factory. As far as bouncing, there is some but there really isn't too much. I just hate the no visibility factor and it needs to be lower. Thanks for the observation and comments.

since you have a shell on the bed of your truck does the shackles on the back springs help lift the back in up any more or not? i have Dakar leaf pack in the rear now but want it a little more higher in the back. Thanks man. If you get time let me know what you think about my build so far.

Yes, the shackles provide an additional ~1.5" of lift over the stock shackles. Plus they are greasable which is a huge +++ for me. I want/need to upgrade to a Dakar leaf pack but I just bought retros, a winch and a new ultra gauge. I kinda blew my monthly mod budget in a matter of a week.

Shackles can help get you a little more height but won't help with load capacity. The Dakars have dismal load capacity unless you use the D6XL add-a-leaf with them. I had the the standard Dakars for a while but they would sag with any weight in the back of the truck. I installed some 1.5" lift shackles and it was a good height if the truck was empty. As soon as I put stuff in the bed it would sag again. Then I ordered the AAL from Cruiser Outfitters to go with the Dakars. Huge difference. The AAL on its own will give an extra .75" of lift but now the back of the truck won't sag with stuff in the back. Didn't hurt the ride quality or flex either.

So shackles aren't a bad idea but I think the AAL is a better way to go (or do both).
