Just waiting on tires! Finally got the wheel bearings fixed after months, twin sticks are here, diff armor, taillights replaced since last ones got broke somehow in a parking lot, gears & misc stuff for tube doors.. then to bob the bed and get the another rear bumper made! Hope to have gears swapped in in the next month or so and be wheeling again!





Still unsure on the taillights though..

As for the roof rack its the stock T4R tracks that bolt into the roof and I made the crossbars from 1' DOM tube

 

thats a really good idea, did you use bolts or like a threaded rivet to mount? did you have to trim it down to fit on the roof?

 

Yea I cut off somewhere around 1'-1.5' and I just went to the hardware store and got some 5mm torx screws, lock washer and nuts.. & silicone the piss out of them!! It fits the double cabs much better as far as the roof line since the ext cabs have the gay hump for the rear passenger section. I believe you can find the rack in 3' and 4' lengths though. I gave $20 for mine with the stock crossbars but wanted something a little stronger for those plus since I have the sunroof I had to make the width of them longer anyway.. I also mounted some Blitzpro 6lz to the side near theback for camping or work lights, really birght. riding in the right lane of a 4 lane plus center grass section of interstate I can clearly see the trees on the opposite side. They work great up there

 

sweet man, ya im torn with getting something like yu have or getting something that yakima or thule makes, that stuff is just so dang expensive, what year did yours come off of?

 

I couldn't tell you, believe it was an early 90's though. It doesn't matter which it comes from though as long as its a factory T4R rack. id go this route personally. Ive got a buddy in Alabama with a Runner who wants me to start making the crossbars for factory width so ill hopefully get on that soon. Ive put over 300# in the center of one and it just managed to bow a little bit. I also carry all my tubing up there in combo with a rack for my bed as well

Damn right man! R&P showed up yesterday so everything is now here and ready to go in then I will be 4wd again too bad the light on the dash no longer turns on though.

These wheels the 33's are on have some major BS and that coupled with the 1.25" spacers makes them stick out a god bit but I don't think the 12.5's will be too far off of this.. Ill have a total of 3.75 with the new wheels

I laid the tracks up on the roof with the crossbars installed and measured to get everything square then marked the holes with a sharpie then I pre drilled all the holes for the bolts I had. I silicone the piss out of the bolts and the bottom of the rack against the roof as well and I haven't had a leak yet. Another local did it after me and he used some sort of foam from Lowes under his which would work as a sealant as well but it would still silicone the bolts and nuts as they go in as well. I have actually still not gotten around to putting my headliner in and I like it much more without it.. Left it out mainly to make sure there would be no leaks but after probably 6 months so far so good!

Oh and I angle the two outer tubes in the front crossbar slightly down cause with the doors off and cruising it makes great handles haha
