IMG_5592.jpg IMG_5609.jpg I had been watching this leaf spring mount for some time now, when it finally failed.

I was surprised the mount itself failed before the entire boxed frame section broke away like seems to be common.

luckily I had anticipated the failure and ordered the saf-t-cap.

Pulled a literal mouse nest out of the frame rail after cutting out the thinnest rusty area.

    Cut out the rust
    Fitted the saf t cap
Prepped the metal IMG_5630.jpg IMG_5629.jpg and called the mobile welder

My only issue was the location of the spring hangar that came attached to the safety cap.

had to push everying back half an inch to keep it to the factory location (about 53inches from the rear, top shackle bolt to the front)

this then caused a gap so I cut off the front 3 inches of the frame patch for a flush fitment.IMG_5628.jpg
