Long shot, but wanted to ask around if anyone knew if 2002 Toyota tacoma Pre runner TRD (non 4x4) lower controls arms are the same or could possibly work for 2001 tacoma TRD 4x4..

    Thank you in advanced!

    They're the same.

    Why are you swapping them?

^ I bought used double cab 4x4 couple months ago and while changing a bunch of the suspension parts I noticed at full lock turning right my outer tie rod was hitting this random tab on the lower control arm.. then made me realize (previous owner) must have broke the end link tab and welded on a new one with a weird extra piece on it. o_O so.. I found a oem low mileage lower control arm and looks like I will just swap it out to diminish any possible measurement error with the newer random welded piece... plus the bushings must be way better shape..

    Ok.

Was asking to ensure you weren't being suckered in to buying new/used control arms just to replace your bushings; it's a common practice offered by lazy mechanics.

FYI all parts interchange between a Prerunner and a 4x4 with the exception of the obvious parts that are lacking in the Prerunner.

^^ thank you for your time and helping me out! Mind you, I did and went ahead and cut off the part that was hitting my tie rod... but something about that weld is making its un-easy for me.. I should have measured but it looks off eye balling it, plus don't want the anxiety of thinking it will break off road..
