02 Sensor question

    my check engine light just turned, my brother in law had it checked out at a pepboys and turns out bank 1 sensor 1 is out, i wont be back home for about 3 weeks. my question is how long can i go without replacing it, would it be fine if the truck is being driven for those 3 weeks while i get home to replace it?

    Its fine. MPGs will suck but shouldn't harm anything. And the repair manual refers that to the air-fuel ratio sensor. Basically controls the air and fuel mixture based how lean or rich you are running. Will run at some default parameters to calculate the air and fuel mixture and not change based on current readings. I have the same problem for about 6 months and my problems appears to be that my sensor went bad. Anyhow, its recommended you change it out aftter 70,000 mi to get the best MPGs.
