I wouldn't get a heavy duty performance clutch unless you really need one...ie you're supercharged or turbo'd, do a lot of offroading with big tires and a lot of weight, etc. Otherwise I think a stock clutch kit from Aisin or Excedy is perfectly fine

Make sure to get the flywheel resurfaced or get a new one when doing the clutch, some people don't in an effort to save money but it's an important part of the job

Ebay is tricky...lot of fake OEM parts and scammers on ebay but also some really good deals on legit parts. Make sure the seller is well reviewed. Got a link to the kit so we can see?

Unless its within 10-15% of the cost of somewhere like RockAuto, I'm instantly suspicious of ebay. Not that I haven't gotten great deals on ebay, but there's so many ways to get sketchy parts there. A clutch especially - if it is janky and it gets installed, even if you get a new part from the seller, there's still a ton of labor to put it in that won't be covered.

Putting in an Asin kit $231 (complete) and new Luk flywheel ($41) from RockAuto. You'll think less about price after getting the transmission out. 2000 Tacoma bought used with 235k miles clutch never really felt totally right. Replaced slave cylinder with Asin and that help a whole lot but the pressure plate and pedal point just felt weird. Removed a Perfection Clutch with about 100k miles on it (painted milage flywheel) surfaces did have some bluing.
