:popcorn:will watch and see what the outcome is. I vote for a rebuilt engine or JDM. Really good condition 1st gen DC are getting hard to find. Fix it and drive it another 10 years.

toss a rebuilt in it and use it for another 20 years... stupidly rare failure you had.

or toss rebuilt in it and sell it on Bring a trailer for 20k+ it would be silly to sell with a blown motor right now.

Basically stock. OME 882s, HD Dakars and nitrochrgers, TG front bumper, custom rear bumper, 4Xinnovations sliders, RAT skids, Softopper, 255/85/16 ST MAXX's on 16" steelies, 1" B.O.R.A. wheel spacers Scangaugae II, deck plate mod, grey wire mod,ECGS bushing, diff breather relocation, alarm mod, defrost w/o compressor mod, de-badged, sockmonkey beside decals.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
It pretty much comes down to what your budget can afford at this time.

I heard to many problems with unknown used engines sure it has a warranty but if your paying for the swap the labor adds up fast.

Another option buy a core engine and have it rebuilt local one experience with a vendor 2000 miles a way was very time consuming and expensive with shipping.

    Best of Luck .

Buy a 3.4. Have a machine shop rebuild the 3.4.

Dang, I should have been paying better attention, I just bought a 5speed trans up in MI as well, but haven't found time to physically go up and get it.

Yeah - I wanted to put deposit down on it and get it next weekend. Seller was great, said he'd hold it but you know how FB is, could have quickly sold anyway so I drove up last minute yesterday. Gave $550 for R150f, transfer case and front diff. It's teh push button case but I'm ok with that as I was planning on going that route anyway.

I like the push button better myself, I put the button on the 5 speed knob on my truck to make 4wd/2wd changes on the fly easier.
raining? -4wd to pullout into traffic, 2wd on the 1-2 shift.

I would find someone selling an engine Toyota original, the remanufactured engines usually only last for about 65k miles. Find one out of a junk truck with around 120k miles would be better than an aftermarket engine.

That Truck is definitely worth fixing up. To clean of a 1st gen to send it to the scrap yard.
