I am new to the forum but i have gotten a lot of help from you guys in the past in posted topics. So my truck all of sudden broke down no start a few weeks back walked home by the time i had come back maybe a half hour i figured i should try to start it. It started made it home i figured it was the fuel pump replaced that and a new filter. Drove fine the first day i beat on it pretty hard to make sure everything was okay. Next day same thing happened but it would not restart. I have replaced ignition coils, spark plugs, cam and crank sensors, and even the computer because my truck was not running its initial diagnostics test no check engine light. The only check engine light that has came on in this entire process was p1315 I have checked all fuses, relays switched them around even all major grounds of the truck. Looked at the open circuit relay and switched that and same conclusion. If you cycle the key the truck will start for maybe 3 seconds and die right away. I am completely lost because the truck had no issues prior to this it only has 140000 miles on it. Any help would be much appreciated. Its a 2.7l auto btw probably should have led with that.

Do you currently have a CEL with the new ECM. (key on, engine off. Should see the CEL on)
And is there any codes currently?

Unfortunately no still no check engine light and no codes. There was one time when i tried unhooking the new one and putting the old one back in and the light came on and the truck ran for maybe 15 minutes then did the whole thing over again and wont start back up.

We need a CEL, and most likely need to start with the OLD ECM.
    Check powers and Grounds.

I'll see if I can post some diagrams and charts, later tonight.

You might jump the power at the Circuit Open relay and see if the truck stays running.
But that really wont help diagnose anything.

Check power on the connector to the following pins. Key On.

    E5- 16 -(White/Red)
    E5- 12 -(White)

    Ground on the following

    E7- 17 -(brown)
    E8- 5 -(White/Black)
    E8- 21 -(White/Black)
    E8- 31 -(White/Black)

E5-16 and 12 both have power. E7-17 has ground and E8-5, E8-21, and E8-31 have ground.

Let me look at the diagrams some more.
My manual doesn’t give a list of powers and grounds for the 3rz.

So you have to trace each wire back to the source. Kind of a pain.

I’ll be back home in about an hour.
    Update you then.

    E8 - 6 -White/Black should be a ground as well.

Other than that, I don't know why you have no CEL.

Thanks for all your help the solution that worked for me was putting back in the old coils apparently two of the brand new coils were defective confusing the computer not throwing a code on top of my dash at the same time decided to take a crap which was where my intermittent check engine light issue was. Lesson learned never buy Delphi coils.
