I found an 03 DC with a TRD package 4 banger prerunner with 75k original miles for 11k. What are y’all thoughts on that? It seemed a little high due to it being a 4cyl

4cyl TRDs were rare in the 1st gen days and even rarer now...but there isn't really anything special about them because they didn't come with a rear locker like the v6 TRD package did. So I wouldn't let them really use the TRD package as a selling point.
The low miles are the biggest appeal but the double cabs only come with an auto and the 4cyls are known to be pretty sluggish with the auto and a double cab.

I had no clue it didn’t come with a real locker that’s a huge disappointment

I mean he could have added one or something so I would confirm with him, but the 4banger TRD packages didn't come with the locker normally. Just the TRD shocks and trim

My last Tacoma was a 4 cylinder TRD package and it had the rear locker.

What year? I think the pre-01s you could add the locker as an option to any Tacoma before they made it an exclusive part of the TRD OR package.

Hard to say for sure anymore these days, one thing I do know is that Toyota used to offer a dumb amount of trims and options before they simplified it way down for the 2nd generation of Tacomas

At 8.5k would y’all think more into it? I love the truck it’s super clean FL truck. But I want 4x4 if not would really really prefer locking rear dif. But 75k original miles on a DC 1st gen is a unicorn

I would yeah, might not be fast but those little 4 bangers will run forever and it's got low mileage. Just make sure the frame is in good shape without a bunch of rust and it's been well maintained.

Also Toyota didn't put LSDs in Tacomas until 2005 (2nd gens) so unless he put an aftermarket one in himself, he's lying about that

The guy I’m sure probably didn’t know what he was talking about. I had a 4 banger that had 280k on it but gave it to my sister... the price is my main objection I suppose
