I know it's hard to tell from a small subset of pictures, but this appears to be the worst of it.
Does it look like this truck could be cleaned up with some rust removal and some POR15 system or equivalent? Like everyone else, looking for a decent frame to attach all new spring and shock hardware to.

It is a 2003 EC residing in NC all its life, <120,000 miles. Thanks is advance for your experienced opinions.

It looks like it has another 5-7 years left in it. If you take care of it now and apply some type of rust preventative. Maybe longer.

    Thanks everyone.
After looking at dozens of Tacomas for sale over the last six months, and reviewing some of the project threads on TW, I believe I am better calibrated on how to judge the 1st gen frames I've been looking at.
And the details you provided on the various treatments/products for rusty frames are much appreciated.

I don't think I'll be spending $20k+ on a 20-year old, 150,000 mile California Tacoma (but, I haven't checked my Powerball ticket yet today) so it is likely I will be selecting from the others on the market - most of which have some natural amount of rust/corrosion from two decades of use.

Too bad I don't prefer the nice silver color (excuse me, "Lunar Mist") - man, they sold a lot of those in 2002-2004.
