03 Front Running Lights Not Working/ Turn's Do

03 Tacoma PreRunner, 161K, V6

Hello All,
I have done some research on this but haven't come up with anything solid since I have a unique situation.

I recently noticed that my front left running light was out (turn signal still works and the front right light (both functions were working fine) I figured that one of the filaments in the bulb was bad so I took it out and replaced both sides with new bulbs since I was at it. Now both running lights don't work but the turn function do work on both sides.

Reading through some threads I have picked up that after installing a trailer harness kit some issues have come up. Three days ago I did install a new trailer kit on my Tacoma which may have done something to the wiring. It was a simple plug and play (no splicing of wires) Thoughts???

I'm moving to CO in a week and would like to get this resolved asap as my wife is driving the truck.... any help would be greatly appreciated before the 1700 Mile journey.

 

was the trailer light kit a generic kit or made specifically for Toyota? we had funky wiring unlike most vehicles so it needs to be a "toyota" trailer wiring kit

 

It was made specifically for Toyota's (same plugs/ T connector as factory)...Curt Brand.

 

maybe its a bad unit then since im sure you already rechecked the wiring

disconnect it and see if that fixes it
