I have an 03 4x4 with TRD suspension. When going offroad through rough desert with twists and large bumps I get a lot of knocking noise through the steering column. On fire roads and paved roads I do not hear it. Is this normal, or do I need to get the rack replaced? It has done around 100k and previous owner tells me it had never been off road, I did not believe that, as why would anyone buy an off road 4x4 truck for freeway cruising, but it did not look as if it had been abused.
