    too many to list
what could be the possible side effects of having bends in the panhard and it not being parallel to the drag link. funky steering at full compression or full droop?

It isnt the straightness of a bar that affects the swing of the arm. It is the length position and angle of the bar that affects swing. You are dealing with pivot points not bar shape.

The bend does not affect anything. If the pivots were parallel before they were bent, they are parallel afterwards.

So it's been a while since I've up-dated this thread...
I was able to cure the DS wheel hop issue I've been scratching my head over for the past year.

I went to have it aligned again to cure a bit of wandering. The digital print I received did show the PS was 1/8" forward more than the DS or, the DS was back more than the PS. I opted to pull the PS back. The shop wouldn't make the adjustment, saying 'it's a custom suspension', so I asked how much adjustment on the PS lower heim it would take to correct it.

I went to my dad's shop, removed the PS lower link and threaded it into the arm 2 full turns... done.
The steering now corrects itself after making U-turns and the wheel hop is gone.

Now I need to have the caster set again to cure the bit of wandering that remains. I'll also have them check that the wheelbase is the same too.

It drives the best it has since all began. I can't wait to get it out and really test this thing.

This is awesome!!! I love the modest ride height. I'm not a fan of these SAS trucks on here that ride sky high

And this...my friends...is one of the great benefits of having links vs leafs. Remove a link, make some simple adjustment and you are done. Super easy and simple.

You realize he is on 33" tires :D

Except with leafs if you measured evreything square and burned it in right you would not have that problem, easier and simplerer :D. In order to have one side farther forward than the other on leafs, something would have to be majorly screwed up on the mounts, crazy bent leaf, bent axle, or the center pin in the wrong hole on the perch or something.

Glad it was an easy fix!!

Yea, that was a very specific problem that can potentially happen more easily with links. But the fix was super simple and quick nonetheless.

Now...What about finding out that you need to move the axle just a little bit more forward/backward, or want to make a quick adjustment to the ride height. Good luck with leafs :p

    Yes...
Yes it was an easy fix, once I gained the knowledge to rectify the issue.
Brian did the hard part so my dialing everything did take my dumb ass some time to figure it out.
If anyone needs measurements on the 4WU kit on a Tacoma, give me a yell.
There were so many things I changed to finally get here.
Toyota should install the 4WU kit as OEM and be done with it.
All of my steering issues are gone and done with.

Again, should anyone need info, hit me up.

Next on the list is to replace the RadFlo bumps on the front.
The 4WU kit has bump cans that accept King 2.0 pintops as a replacement. They fit the cans perfectly.
I did purchase the Total Chaos bump can brackets for the rear and a 2nd pair of King 2.0 pintops.
I'll have to fab a plate as the kit is to be installed outside of the frame rail but I'll install it inside.
Simple fab work to do this but all should be a simple mod.
    Pics to come next weekend.

Great Looking Truck Ritchie! The Bumps will make such a difference, even with slower wheeling and trails.:hattip:

    Thanks Throttle.
I have several things to dial in and so far, I'm an exhibitor @ SEMA this year. My hopes are to promote all that has been done and of what I have done to showcase the Tacoma off-road products.
Of course the 4WU, Front Range, Inchworm and Marlin products will be at the forefront of my build portfolio.
    More to follow.

    Thanks for the kudos.

Very Cool, is 4WU going to make a complete kit for 2nd Gens? Really surprised someone has not jumped on a true 2nd Gen kit yet.

At the time I was at his facility, I asked Brian if 2nd gens were on the list. No was the answer.
Times change so maybe he has reconsidered.

Airbumps are sweet man! Easy project for sure especially if the cans are already on there.

So I did not replace the bumps this past weekend. The RadFlo cans inside diameter are smaller than the King bumps diameter. Don't believe everything you read on the internet like I did.
New cans are ordered so I hope to install them this weekend. I'll grind/ remove the existing, then weld in the Kings.
    Bummer.
