Hey guys, I bought a Haynes manual but the colors are not correct in their general wiring diagram. I figured the 15 pages of diagrams would help...

I went to get a sticker, and found out that I have no rear brake lights EXCEPT the 3rd brake light which works perfectly fine.

I'm generally fine with electrical issues, but not when the colors aren't matching with the manual.

I imagine the brake and running rights are connected LH to RH in parallel, and the signal would have to be 2 separate wires for the hot as there is a LH and RH signal.

Another PITA variable is that I believe the trailer lights are also in parallel to one of the taillights. The 4 wire trailer wires pins were corroded, so the 1st thing I did was to repair those with a heat shrink butt connector, and I thought that was the issue, but no luck...

Book says stop is grn w/ red stripe, but there isn't one at the tail lights with a red stripe. And oddly enough, Toyota uses white/blk stripe for ground. Not sure why they would do that but otherwise Toys are built awesomely well so I'm not gonna complain...

This is an 03 4WD V6 Tacoma with tow package. Could someone please turn me on to a place I can either buy or view the correct diagram??

Or, is there are common problem here with rear brake lights/trailer wires on this system??

Thanks very much for any help...

Those converter boxes are known for causing all kinds of light issues .

your brake lights had been working ?

I am guessing you checked the brake light filaments in the bulbs were both good ??
