04 exhaust on a 99?

    99 Tacoma 2.4L 2wd
    I have a 99 tacoma 2wd 2.4L in need of an exhaust (it disconnected at the cat). Just so happens my father has a spare stainless cat-back (minus the muffler) from his 04 2wd 2.4L. It looks just about the same although it will need a smaller muffler. Basically I am wondering if the exhaust for the 04 will bolt up to 99 with out many issues. And any suggestions on a smaller muffler that might fit? Thanks.
