I currently own a 2004 extended cab 4x4 v6 Tacoma and the frame is rotting out. When I heard about the frame recall I took it in to Toyota and the checked it over and sent the information in to see if my tuck was eligible for the recall and it can back that I wasn't eligible for it because there was a previous recall for a type of under coat to prevent the rust but the owner that had it before me never got this under coat. But it always has been undercoated just not the one from the recall. Because he did not get the undercoat from the recall my truck is not eligible for the frame recall now.

Was wondering if anyone had this problem too and knows of any loop holes or ways to become eligible for a new frame.

Sorry to tell you, but your SOL. There are countless threads on Tacoma owners fighting this and we never hear back from them. I could only assume they lost their case with Toyota.

I'm sure someone else can expand on details, but from my understanding if Toyota did not check or apply the undercoating (no matter how bad their undercoating is) by them. They would not extend the warranty on the frame no exception.

Remember the dealer has to get reimbursed by Toyota. no dealer will do this out of pity, they want to get paid.

Never hurts calling or emailing Toyota big boys.

    Good Luck!
