04 keyless entry without alarm?

i have an 04 prerunner dbl cab with an aftermarket alarm system (K9 Mundial). Its been giving me all kinds of trouble and today I finally pulled out the lower dash and yanked the damn module out (actually i disconnected it nicely).

I need to know if there is a keyless entry system that originally came with this taco or if I can add one. I don't want an alarm anymore because its been nothing but trouble for me. but i do want the keyless entry remote.

how can i get this without having an alarm system?

I don't know about the 04, but some have the factory keyless module under the driver seat.

 

Some also have them under the driver side dash.

so how do i know if i pulled out the factory module? mine was under the strearing wheel lower dash. but it was an alarm system. does the factory keyless also have an alarm?

 

actually it would be perfect if i could find a way to keep the one i have but disable the alarm and just keep the keyless entry option. been doing lotsa searching but have not found any info re how to do that.

 

I think most of the SR5 line came with the key-less entry (at least from the dealer). I had them add the RS3200 alarm (Toyota's) as part of my buying the truck. so to answer your question yes you can have factory key-less without alarm. Just have to locate the right module and make sure the aftermarket alarm didn't splice or bridge the connections preventing it from working.

 

You should be able to call your local Toyota dealership, ask for the service department, and explain to them that you would like to know if your truck came with keyless entry from the factory, give them your VIN and they can check right there on the spot.

If so, you can order a new key fob here for about $50.

That is exactly what I did with my '03. Worked like a charm.

 

All 03-04's that have keyless entry have an alarm. Its just not hooked up. Here is the link on how to but will also show you what is factory. If you have the module you can get a keyless entry fob of your choice to operate it.

i appreciate the info...i'm a little confused, though.
i'm not sure if my '04 has factory keyless entry. I'll call the dealer like Tribull suggests. The alarm and keyless entry i currently have is clearly aftermarket. I have no problem disabling it for good and using the factory keyless (i dont need/want the alarm).

assuming i DO have factory keyless...how can i start using it? I'm sure I'll need to get a new key fob (i hate the one i have, anyway)

Tribull.... are you saying that you already had factory keyless and all you did was order a new keyfob and program it to your factory keyless...and it works?

That is exactly what I'm saying. I called the dealership and gave them my VIN to verify that I had existing factory keyless entry. Then I ordered a used key fob off the interwebs and programmed it. Works like a charm. Actually, I need to order a spare.

My t100 had one and it acted up all the time.. i just snipped the alarm wire

 

I have an 03 SR5 TRD, came with no fobs. Where would the Keyless entry module be located? I have looked under both seats an there is nothing.
