You've mentioned rust and previous road salt life at least twice in this thread.

I'd suggest a throrough proper frame inspection before you spend a dime. Should the frame be at a point of pending failure, your repairs might be futile.

Same....if you alignment or bushings are bad......you'll just over stress the new stuff.....

Also I'd pony up for new hoses......I know its a bitter $400 pill to swallow.....

hydraulic hoses are rated for 4 or 5 yr service life....
its what you cant see....that can kill you.........

In the winter time.......all should do a monthly boot inspect....

especially after a recent boot replace in last year......
......when the temps drop and do hard turns....it will test how well you set that band....
and whether you caught that groove/lip just right.......

I had the frame sprayed when Tacoma was doing that, can't remember the date. The truck's been in Alabama for about 7 years now but I'll have the mechanic check out the frame while he's under there.

Haven't bought anything yet, gonna let the mechanic look at everything and tell me if I need any other parts, hoses, etc.

Care to elaborate on that? If you're referring to the new uniball conversion kit they just put out, you're outta your mind suggesting it a DD owner. If most folks have sticker shock for the OEM parts, dropping $1000 bucks on beefy off road parts is insane.

I was afraid at first too.. it was only after I accepted reality that I was able to muster the courage to hit buy.. now I see the light and I’m always happy. You will too.
