    OME and worth every penny.
    Just checking the oil/condition of oil, tells a lot. U don't remember ticking being a common problem but remember exhaust leaks and spaok plug wire breaks 'tick' also.

    I remember replacing pug wires a lot on all Fords.

    i had an 03 with the 3.0 that grenaded around 150k miles. Perfect maintenance on everything, and it turned into a huge POS. Body was in good shape, so it looked good in the junk yard

    I drove a ranger for work back in 2011/2012. Total pos in my opinion. Ended up in the boneyard with a nasty engine knock at 150k miles. I think it was maybe a 2005. I wouldn’t pay more than $1,500 for an old ranger. You are going to spend a lot of money on that thing.

    Do you happen to recall what engine it had and if that was a common issue?

    The update is even better. I think TW needs a “duel” function. Call a fellow member out, get sent to a Gulag type of battle. Gulag consists of slashing insults at eachother, mods vote on the winner. If the winner is the challenger, they get control of the thread in question.

    @ColoradoTJ make it happen :crapstorm:

    I found a 2007 single cab ranger automatic 4cyl 40kmiles, mint condition frame/body/paint/interior.
    It's been sitting on a guys property in my area for over a year. He bought a full size truck and just left the ranger parked.

    The owner (has title) says the top of the engine is making a slight tick/rattle noise. I have not run the engine myself yet.

    Hes been looking for the keys for a few days but wants to sell it. I have not made an offer yet.

    Do you ranger owners know if this tick/rattle is a common problem? Valve tick? Cam bearings? Any common issues with a 2007 4cyl or tranny that i should be inspecting for?

    I'll update once i run it. Thanks
