Got any more details on the CXRacing turbo kit? You said it didn't line up at the crossover pipe... how did you fix that?

I ask because I was considering getting the CXRacing turbo manifolds.

I had to cut it and weld in another section of pipe.

Would you like to sell your turbo manifolds, crossover, and downpipe to me in order to fund your 2jz swap?

Alright soooo time for the 3 year update.
Been doing big turbo Subaru stuff for the last 3 years. I got tired of blowing money on nitrous and methanol so subi is now in storage and the trucks out.

At the beginning of summer I put a new motor and started wheeling the piss out of her.
About a month ago I was pulling up on the trailer getting ready to go to flatnasty and the rear diff grenaded.

So I got a set of 4.30 diffs from a 4Runner and started wheeling again. Then today while going out to get the mail this happened.

Broke the ps side gear in my new diff... good stuff ::)

and for good measure a few pictures of the old set up.

kinda ironic that after blowing the ringlands in the Tacoma i decided to move on to Subarus.

So I started building long travel front suspension a few weeks ago. Nothing too fancy, just 3.5" over.

pics of progress on the long travel build.
pulls 12 in using tundra shocks and old man emu 885s.
no idea where ride height will end up, theirs some adjust-ability in the eibach shocks so i should be able to get it dialed in .

Update time. Got an alignment, truck drives good on the street so naturally I went wheeling. Everything worked beautifully, couldn't be happier with how the front end turned out.

Now for the bed news I chunked another rear diff.

Now some more good news. I'm putting in a second gen rear axle, 5.29s, and a spartan front locker.

Did you get the 2nd gen rear axle installed yet? I have one I'm going to put on my first gen so I'm interested to see how things work out for you. Awesome truck!

I did, still running all pro 1.5" spacers so the track width matches the front. Works the same as the previous axle. I did have to cut a fair bit out of the bedside so the wheel didn't eat it at full stuff (wouldn't be an issue if I weren't running the spacers)

Did the driveshaft and e brake cable attach easily? How did you end up mounting your shocks? Inside or outside of the frame?

Drive shaft bolts up. Idk about e-brake I converted to disks in the rear a long time ago. I set my shocks up in the same location they were before (inside the frame).

Come to think of it. I can say for sure e-brake won't work they use a totally different cable set up. Also if I had this axle when I was setting up my rear end i would have put the shocks outside the frame to keep some room in my already tiny bed.

What discs did you use? What did you do for an e brake?

I'm planning on using a spring under setup and relocate the shocks outside of the frame with a low profile bed cage to keep as much bed space as possible - like you said they are pretty tiny to begin with lol
