    Hello everyone.

The time has come for me to list my beloved 04 Tacoma TRD. I’ve owned this truck since it was brand new with 6 miles on the odometer. It has been a great truck and I have no doubt that it will continue to be a great truck for many years to come.

As you can see in the photos below, it is a 04 Extended Cab TRD. It has the 3.4L V6 and also the e locker.

Maintenance has been completed religiously by me (because I don’t trust anyone else to work on it). Timing Belt was done at about 126k by Japanese Automotive Specialists in Monrovia CA. The truck currently has a few more than 212,000 miles on it with no signs of slowing. A few months ago I replaced the head gaskets and adjusted the valves. Photos below of what the valve train looked like when the valve covers were off. Everything was immaculate. Not a speck of sludge. I have a large folder of invoices and parts receipts for the work has been done. The truck has new outer tie rods on it, the rear drum brake shoes and hardware were replaced a few months ago.

First aspect of the condition I will mention is the frame. There is NO RUST. Frame is in great condition.

Interior of the truck is clean as well. No rips, tears or bare spots in the carpets. It has had Toyota factory floor mats since day one and they are pretty worn, but the carpet itself is in great condition. The seats are in good condition as well. No rips, burns, or holes. The driver’s side plastic trim piece around the recline lever is broken as shown in the photos. There are a few small scratches on the dash, mainly around the glove box area.

The body of the truck is average. It has some dents and dings. There is a dent on the driver’s door about 3 inches in diameter from the wind pulling the door open and knocking it into a pole at a gas station a long time ago. The tailgate has a few dings. Bedsides have a few dings. Fenders are in good shape. No dings or dents. Same with the front bumper and hood.

The paint is in fair condition. It’s a 12 year old truck. The clear coat is starting to peel a bit on the left fender, but this is the only place where this is happening and I could have it clear coated prior to purchase if the buyer wants to work that out. There are numerous chips in the paint on the front bumper from rocks and road debris. There are a few chips on the front of the hood as well. The rear tail gate has numerous scratches along the top edge.

Now for the modifications. The main thing, is that the truck has a 4 wheel drive transmission and transfer case, as you can see in the photos. This was part of a 4x4 conversion that I started but was never able to finish due to work. (I have 90% of the parts to complete the conversion that can be included if the buyer would like to negotiate this). The transmission and transfer case have 120,000 miles on it. The truck has a pair of Icon extended length coilovers in the front along with camburg upper control arms. The rear suspension consists of a custom leaf pack made up of the OME leaf pack with some leaves removed. There is a pinion angle shim to correct the pinion angle and the shocks are bilstein 5100’s. In the interior, the truck has an alpine head unit, scan gauge mounted in the dash and alpine speakers in all four corners. Also, the whole cab, except for the roof, is dynamatted. I had some pictures of it somewhere but I can't find them at the moment. I'd be happy to pull some carpet back and show a prospective buyer though.

Lastly, the camper shell. I’d like to sell it with the truck, but if the buyer doesn’t want it, it is negotiable. The shell is in fair condition. No peeling clear coat or paint. The color match isn’t the best as I purchased it on craigslist. It has some scratches and things and one of the lock cylinders is damaged. But the lid still locks and it has new struts and new bed clamps on it.

I know this is a bit of an interesting sale since it is half way through a 4x4 swap, but I’m hoping I can sell it to someone who can complete the swap and let this truck live out it’s many remaining years as the hard working, reliable tank that it is.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns as I will be happy to address them.

The asking price is $8000.00 including the 4x4 conversion parts that I have (front diff, manual hubs and one aftermarket cv axle) but as everything in life, that price is negotiable. The truck is located in San Dimas, CA.

And as a closing statement, I feel I should mention that I'm only selling it because I bought a 3rd gen 4 runner that is already built and 4x4. If I could keep this truck, I would. But finances, my significant other, and parking in LA are all against me on this one.

Also, forgot to mention that I had a blackstone oil analysis done a few months back. Here are the results.
