At a very tough point in buying my first Tacoma. I'm 16 and want something that will last me, should I go with the 04 Tacoma or 05? Thanks

2 Complete different generations of Tacoma's which version do you like better? Do a lot of research before buying is all I can say.

I would recommend 04 only because the 05 is the first year of second gens and can have gremlins.

Agreed many kinks to deal with in the 05

Need to spend time and research both trucks, totally different animals. I have an 04 and wouldn't trade it for anything. I researched for a number of months here on TW, Consumer Reports, etc. When I landed on what I wanted, I then searched for the year, color (Black), options, geography (Southern truck) and best condition I could find (mint).

Took time and effort but worth it. I had a blast doing it and hope you do too.
