I think you mean 51773 Wix, correct?

If price ea is a concern, I see several vendors on eBay sell them for $4.00 ea in a case of 12. Plus free shipping! Napa gold is made by wix.

I'm thinking that if you increase the size of the oil filter, you should increase the amount of oil put in the motor, for the oil change. You could fill the old oil filter up with old oil and measure what pours out. Then ,fill up the new filter, with new oil , and measure what pours out. Subtract the bigger number from the smaller number and increase the amount of oil put in ,by that amount.
REMEMBER, wipe out the measuring cup real good, before sneaking it back into mamas cupboards!

all of this seems like ALOT of work considering the fact again that there are very few if any cases where a 1GR failed to contaminated oil due to lack of filtration from the stock D3 filter. Also if you are trying to get longer oil change intervals .... dont. thats how one gets sludge buildup.

I'm going to start using Studebaker air filters in my '15 Tacoma 4.0L.

They are bigger - bound to catch more stuff.

That size does not come in synthetic media and the nominal micron rating is higher than the smaller ones. Might also be too long. The 51515 might realistically be the biggest you can go.

And you don't need to be measuring oil by filling the filter. Just add half a quart to the system and check the dip stick to make sure you are not under. If you are, add another half quart. No need to measure in quarters. I've always added oil by going up to the next half quart.
